Heather pursued her studies in Occupational Therapy at St Loyes School of Occupational Therapy as a mature student, earning her qualification in 2007.

Since then, she has built a diverse and fulfilling career in OT, working across adult mental health, adult social care, and more recently, focusing on palliative care within a hospice environment.

Heather has now embarked on a new journey in education at the ºù«ÍÞÊÓÆµ, stepping into her first formal teaching role after years of supporting students throughout her career.

Beyond her professional life, Heather enjoys time with her husband, son, and two dogs, while also enjoying various crafting activities.

Teaching Interests

Heather has recently transitioned from clinical practice to Higher Education and is excited to take on the role of module lead for Essential Occupational Therapy Practice (OCTH1200) for first-year BSc students, in the upcoming academic year.

She hopes to integrate her experiences in palliative care and moving and handling into her teaching approach, enriching students' learning with practical insights from her occupational therapy career.

Heather will be undertaking a post graduate certificate of education alongside her role as a lecturer.

Research Interests

Heather has a keen interest in researching the role of occupational therapy in palliative care.
