My name is Gemma, and I qualified as a healthcare professional with a background in children's nursing and public health. After completing my children’s nursing training at Worcester ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ in 2014, I began my career as a Staff Nurse within a health visiting team. Driven by a passion for supporting children and families, I pursued further specialisation and qualified as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse in Health Visiting in 2016.

My career has been shaped by a deep commitment to public health, particularly in the early years of a child’s life. I am a firm believer in the adage, "it takes a village to raise a child," and strives to make a meaningful impact in supporting families during the crucial first 1001 days of life.

In addition to my clinical expertise, I furthered my academic development by completing a Post Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education at Birmingham City ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ. This has enabled me to support students as they navigate their own career paths through higher education. I am enthusiastic about how the determinants of health impact on people’s lives, with a particular focus on the importance of early interventions and their long-term benefits to health and well-being.
