Becci is a Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist. Becci’s background has primarily been working with children who have complex physical disabilities. She enjoys close MDT work and getting stuck into anything practical including; postural management, upper limb tone management in cerebral palsy, assistive technology for communication and occupations, accessible play and sensory processing strategies.
When Becci is not teaching, she provides OT input into special schools. She loves to work alongside staff to widen the understanding of children with both physical and sensory needs and supports children to engage in their daily routines and activities.
Becci has worked as an Associate Lecturer at Worcester ºù«ÍÞÊÓÆµ and has now joined the Teaching Team.

Teaching Interests
Within the NHS, Becci has had the opportunity to design and deliver training in the areas of monitoring upper limb tone, AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication), postural management and sensory processing.
Becci regularly delivers teaching on sensory processing and sensory diets within the special school setting.
Research and Project Interests
Becci enjoys being involved in project work around Cerebral Palsy. She has been involved in developing the EDACS (Eating and Drinking Ability Classification System) and has more recently contributed to development in the OT Cerebral Palsy Integration Surveillance Protocol, both regionally and nationally – this seeks to develop training and guidelines for OTs to monitor upper limb tone for children with Cerebral Palsy.
Becci is interested in how schools can use sensory strategies within the curriculum and is currently involved in working in a school-based project to develop an interoception-focussed curriculum for children with sensory-processing needs.
